Scientific Program

Part 1

Fundamentals and Quality EEG Recording

  • Introduction to QEEG for Neurofeedback: what QEEG is, its clinical relevance, when to request a brain map, and how it supports clinical decision-making.
  • Functional Neuroanatomy and Brain Networks: key brain regions such as F3, F4, Cz, and Pz, as well as the Default Mode Network, Central Executive Network, Salience Network, and their possible dysfunctions.
  • High-Quality EEG Recording and Artifact Management: electrode placement, impedance, skin preparation, recording quality, and artifact identification and removal.
  • The 10–20 System and Montage Logic: how montage selection influences interpretation and how to choose appropriate setups for different clinical goals.

Clinical Reading and Connectivity

  • Brain Rhythms and Their Functional Meaning: Alpha, Theta, Beta, Delta, HiBeta, and their possible clinical significance.
  • From EEG to QEEG: spectral analysis, brain maps, normative databases, and the use of Z-scores for clinical interpretation and protocol development.
  • Coherence, Connectivity, and Asymmetries: interpretation of functional metrics, interhemispheric coherence, and examples related to ADHD and anxiety.
  • Software and QEEG Report Review: the complete workflow from recording and cleaning to mapping, interpretation, and report creation, including examples with NeuroGuide and BrainAvatar.

Part 2

Clinical Application and Protocol Development

  • Linking Clinical Symptoms with QEEG Findings: QEEG-based phenotypes and common findings in ADHD, anxiety, trauma, and insomnia.
  • Medication Effects and QEEG: how antidepressants, psychostimulants, and other medications may influence EEG patterns and clinical interpretation.
  • Writing a Professional QEEG Report: essential report sections, clinical language, findings, conclusions, and Neurofeedback recommendations.
  • Clinical Q Session with Hany Branga: clinical interpretation and the therapeutic relevance of Clinical Q.

Advanced Practice and AI-Supported Interpretation

  • Practical Workshop: guided review of brain maps and Neurofeedback protocol selection.
  • AI-Supported QEEG Interpretation and Report Writing: structured use of artificial intelligence to support QEEG analysis and professional report preparation together with Dr. Ismael Castillo.

AI-Supported QEEG Interpretation with IFEN Neuropathfinder

This training integrates IFEN Neuropathfinder, an advanced educational and research platform designed to support structured QEEG interpretation and evidence-based Neurofeedback protocol selection.

Neuropathfinder connects brain activity patterns with clinical symptom profiles, helping participants understand how EEG findings, functional networks, and protocol logic fit together in a coherent and systematic way.

Access to IFEN Neuropathfinder is exclusively available to participants of this workshop. Its use is introduced within a structured clinical learning framework to support the interpretation process and protocol development.

From QEEG Data to Clinical Decisions

EEG has been an essential diagnostic tool in neurology for decades. Quantitative EEG provides an additional layer of analysis by revealing electrical patterns that may be associated with specific functional, psychological, or neurological profiles.

This training provides a structured framework for understanding QEEG data and using it to support the development of individualized Neurofeedback or tDCS protocols, based on the clinical experience of instructors working across multiple neurotherapy centers.
